Why Use a Copywriter for your Marketing Needs?

Today our world is flooded with businesses big and small. Depending on the scale of your business, you may be working with a large marketing budget or a smaller one.

I’m here to tell you that no matter how big or small your business is, content matters; the writing matters.

I’ve worked as a professional copywriter for nearly 10 years and one thing I always here is, “your message is so consistent with our brand and the voice of your content remains fluid throughout all of our marketing materials.” This is because they are using someone who specializes in producing creative content/ ideas for their marketing needs.

Even if you are a smaller company/ brand and you really don’t have a lot of moveable dollars in your budget, it’s very important you allot some of those dollars to a copywriter. A copywriter can enhance your brand by articulating your message through the written word.

For example, perhaps you know you need an “ABOUT” page on your company’s website, but you really aren’t sure what to say. A copywriter can take simple notes or bullet points about your business and formulate that into a short essay that is easy for your audience to read and understand.

A copywriter can be used in many ways, including,

  • creating web page content,

  • social media content, media kits,

  • press releases,

  • radio copy,

  • taglines,

  • brochures,

  • email marketing,

  • different advertisements, the list goes on!

A copywriter is also a professional at editing materials. So maybe you don’t have a ton of money to spend on a copywriter; the alternative would be for a copywriter to help edit the copy you already have in place. They can work wonders giving your writing a “face lift” and putting a new spin on the verbiage you already have.

Either way it’s important to put some of your marketing focus on this component of the big picture. Chances are, you wouldn’t create a company website without a professional graphic designer, so why would you produce one without having fantastic verbiage? The overall takeaway is that no matter what your marketing strategy may be, a copywriter is critical in facilitating your message and branding!
